The 22nd  IEEE Bio-Tech Contest - 2020 will take place on February 8, 2020 at UCI in Natural Sciences II, conference room 3201  (starting at 10:30 AM). This event will be held courtesy of the Biomedical Engineering Department of UC Irvine. See applicable links for details. NS-2 is building 402 on campus map; General maps and driving directions. If you take 73 south to come to campus, you will exit Bison. Turn left on Bison and go all the way to almost the end. See parking information, there's a parking lot (Lot 16) (see parking map).   Visitors can go to the electronic parking permit dispensing machine as marked on the map and purchase a parking permit. Visitors will then place the permit on their dashboards and park at any parking spot except handicapped ones. Carpooling encouraged.  (Check for additional schedule and other details). Eligibility: College students enrolled in six or more units.

Theme: To develop and present a concept using Electrical, Electronic, Biomedical, and/or Electro-Optics to assist a persons' disability - or to improve a persons' ability to manage tasks that usually require assistance.

Requirements: Abstract of 50 to 500 words submitted for judging before January 25, 2020. Please email to Dr. Chris Druzgalski,  druz[AT]ieee.org  that you plan to submit an abstract. 
The abstract format: “Title; (below) Name(s) of the presenter(s) - (student (s) name(s) only); (No institutional affiliation(s) should be indicated) “. This format also applies to an introductory Power Point slide during the presentation which should be planned for 12-15 minutes. The abstract should be submitted for a review in a MS Word or PDF format.  All abstracts should be typed, using no smaller than size 10 font, and must not exceed four pages in length including any attached diagrams, schematic, and/or pictures. The concept submitted shall be that of the students, and shall note all references. Students shall present their concept during the contest.
